Apparel Merchandising Design & Textiles
Apparel Design encompasses all areas of the apparel industry, from concept to consumer. Design courses cover creativity, illustration, computer-aided design, pattern making, draping, and construction. This option provides students with an understanding of the worldwide industry. Students create garments and then have the opportunity to showcase their work at WSU?s Annual Mom?s Weekend Fashion Show.
The Merchandising option allows for students to learn about the apparel industry from initial product concept to consumer purchasing. Courses in merchandising teach students processes involved in the planning, buying, and selling of merchandise in either manufacturing or retail organizations. Students are shown all aspects of this global industry from fiber selection to the final product ready for consumer purchase
