Pharmacy USciences Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, founded in 1821, was the first educational institution in North America to teach pharmacy to students. The Doctor of Pharmacy Program is offered as a 0-6 program, meaning that students are directly admitted into the pharmacy program. The comprehensive curriculum combines courses in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, social sciences and the liberal arts with professional courses and pharmacy practice experiences. Students will develop insights into different area of pharmacy practice including community, hospital, acute care, ambulatory care, pharmacy services management, drug information, government agencies, industry and research starting in your freshman year with experimental training beginning in the first professional year (3rd year in school).
